Meet at Shaxriston Hotel between Bukhara’s Second and Third Trading Domes. After a short walk, you’ll enter an ancient-style hammam for heat, steam, foam, a scrub, and massage. The hour ends with Bukharian tea and sweets. English and Russian support is available, and the experience is private.
“Some confusion at the meetup were unsure of being at the right place for some time. The steam room, (too) hot marble slab and vigorous scrub were as expected, the firm massage too. Slightly surprised to have a male attendant / masseuse, and felt uncomfortable as others walked in and out between rooms. Dislike shown at the buckets of water being thrown over my head were ignored.. but it was an experience indeed, neither being offensive nor uncomfortable to a level of wanting to leave, but one I will not need again..”
